Parents are in the best position to help their kids the most

Raising a child with anxiety or OCD can bring so much doubt and exhaustion. It can also bring so much instability for the whole family. It can impact your other children and it can put a strain on your relationships with other family members.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

When you are surrounded by other people who get your struggles, you feel heard. When you are in the company of people who have been where you are, you get answers. When other parents have your back, you feel less alone and more empowered to take this struggle on.

That’s why I created the AT Parenting Community. As a mom to three kids with anxiety and OCD, I get all the exhaustion and overwhelm anxiety and OCD can bring.

But as a therapist, I also get how powerful it is for a parent to get their own support to help their child directly. In fact, that’s exactly what I saw with the parents in my practice whose kids were having the most success. They didn’t depend on therapy to fix everything. They get that therapy is only part of the equation and that they are the rest.

In the AT Parenting Community parents will not only find people who “get it,” they’ll find a wealth of resources, support and help at their fingertips.

Unfortunately because I spend most of my time giving parents support inside the community, I am only doing this opening for 3 days. The AT Community is closing its doors today.

If you have been looking to get super-sized support on steroids. If you have been searching for a place where everyone gets anxiety and OCD. If you have been looking for a place where answers are simple, but effective...

Doors are closing today.

When OCD Shifts: Handling Theme Changes in Kids & Teens with OCD

OCD loves to change costumes. One week it’s germs, the next it’s harm or moral worries—and parents are left wondering, “Are we back at square one?” In this episode I explain why theme changes are common, what’s actually staying the same beneath the surface, and how to respond without chasing content.

This is What it Looks Like to Fight OCD

OCD is sneaky, loud, and relentless. It whispers in your child’s ear: “Wash your hands. Ask for reassurance. Don’t touch that. Are you sure you didn’t do that?” But here’s the truth — kids don’t have to give in.

In this video, I’ll show you exactly what it looks like to fight OCD in real life. From delaying and ignoring OCD, to doing exposures and cutting off reassurance, these are the tools that help kids take their power back. 💪

OCD symptoms parents often miss

OCD can show up in surprising ways—especially in kids. And because the condition is widely misunderstood, its symptoms are often mistaken for quirks or phases. Early intervention can save families years of suffering, guiding them toward evidence-based treatments that can help kids manage OCD and live full, confident lives. Watch Dr. Patrick McGrath, Chief Clinical Officer at NOCD, share the subtle signs of childhood OCD—and what to do if you notice them.

NOCD Therapists specialize in treating OCD in children, teens, and adults. They accept most insurance plans and involve the whole family in treatment, empowering you and your loved ones to more effectively support your child. Book a free call to learn more.

We’ll see you over there!

Take care,
Natasha

Are you struggling to find a child therapist who specializes in OCD? Or have you found someone who says they treat OCD, but clearly doesn’t have the expertise or knowledge to treat your child 😩. 💣 Here is a truth bomb… Believe it or not, most therapists are NOT given the specialized training to treat OCD. That’s a scary fact! And without that training, they can do more harm than good. Just ask parents who went to the wrong therapist. You shouldn’t have to sit around watching your child get...

Harm OCD is one of the most misunderstood OCD themes children and teens experience. These intrusive thoughts can be dark, scary, and completely out of character—causing intense fear and shame. Unfortunately, when therapists or parents don’t understand Harm OCD, kids can be mislabeled as a danger to themselves or others when in reality, they are terrified of these thoughts and desperate to make them stop. In this video, I’ll show you realistic examples of how Harm OCD can show up in everyday...

Helping our kids with anxiety and OCD can be counterintuitive; especially with OCD! Trusting your gut, or even an unskilled mental health professional, can sometimes make things worse. I learned that the hard way myself. After my kids had several bad therapists, I realized that my role was pivotal. Even now, with both kids seeing fantastic therapists, I am still the one dealing with their crises and immediate struggles 24/7. My guess is, so are you. That is why I don’t want you to miss the...
