My Gift to you for OCD Awareness Week

Can you believe it takes an average of 14 to 17 years from the time OCD first appears for people to seek and receive appropriate OCD treatment? Yes, over a decade.

And yet 50% of people with OCD report their symptoms started in childhood. Why should kids have to suffer for so long?

But that doesn’t have to be your children’s fate. In fact, that’s the very issue that drives me to make sure parents have access to evidenced-based courses to help their child with OCD no matter what.

There is a shortage of OCD trained child and adolescent therapists.

And when you do find one, they rarely take insurance. So as parents we can find ourselves facing one barrier after another.

If you’ve been lucky enough to find an OCD child therapist, there is still the issue of what are you supposed to do to support your child.

That’s why I have created a library of OCD on-demand, video courses

Courses like:

  • How to Teach Your Child to Crush OCD (for parents)
  • Crushing OCD Class for Kids and Teens (for kids and teens)
  • How to Handle Difficult Behavior Caused by Anxiety or OCD
  • SPACE Study Guide: A Parent-Only Approach to OCD (for parents)

Each course contains all my clinical expertise and is the same material I taught kids and families in my sixteen years of private practice.

I have gone out of my way to make my courses affordable. When therapy can cost upwards of $300 a session, parents have been relieved to find a cost effective way to build their child’s skills while waiting for a therapist or to supplement therapy to reduce costs.

But I know that even as affordable as my courses are, many families are having to make hard choices around their budget right now.

🎉 That is why I want to offer you a gift for OCD Awareness week.

I’ve decided to give families 50% off all my classes just for this week.(This offer does not apply to courses you’ve already purchased). This isn’t something I do often, just once per year.

My hope is that I’m giving some families an opportunity to get access to clinically sound, evidenced-based approaches for OCD that they might not otherwise be able to get.

Are you struggling to find a child therapist who specializes in OCD? Or have you found someone who says they treat OCD, but clearly doesn’t have the expertise or knowledge to treat your child 😩. 💣 Here is a truth bomb… Believe it or not, most therapists are NOT given the specialized training to treat OCD. That’s a scary fact! And without that training, they can do more harm than good. Just ask parents who went to the wrong therapist. You shouldn’t have to sit around watching your child get...

Harm OCD is one of the most misunderstood OCD themes children and teens experience. These intrusive thoughts can be dark, scary, and completely out of character—causing intense fear and shame. Unfortunately, when therapists or parents don’t understand Harm OCD, kids can be mislabeled as a danger to themselves or others when in reality, they are terrified of these thoughts and desperate to make them stop. In this video, I’ll show you realistic examples of how Harm OCD can show up in everyday...

Helping our kids with anxiety and OCD can be counterintuitive; especially with OCD! Trusting your gut, or even an unskilled mental health professional, can sometimes make things worse. I learned that the hard way myself. After my kids had several bad therapists, I realized that my role was pivotal. Even now, with both kids seeing fantastic therapists, I am still the one dealing with their crises and immediate struggles 24/7. My guess is, so are you. That is why I don’t want you to miss the...
