As parents we have a front row seat to our child’s anxiety or OCD struggles. Their issues don’t stay neatly contained in a box. It explodes and impacts everyone around it. -We inadvertently grow it at times. -We coach (and sometimes beg) our kids to not listen to it. -We see it hiding in our child’s behaviors (even when they deny it). -We notice the impact it has on our other kids and on our adult relationships. We don’t get a choice whether these issues impact our child and our family. But we do get a choice about what we do about it. The good news is crushing anxiety and OCD isn’t rocket science. Parents just need a roadmap on how anxiety and OCD work and what steps need to be taken to start seeing some improvement.
